Out of the Rain forest and onto the beach. I appreciate all the donations towards the themes the past few weeks. We’ve had so much fun!

Yess yess Beach Week! We’ll explore things outside of the ocean like boats, games, critters, and sun safety, which gives you a hint to the following weeks theme…. Under the Sea. Friday the 10th we’ll have a Beach party, so bring your favorite beach towel! See sign up sheets on the doors of your classrooms. It’ll be  our ”Kick off Summer” party.

Next week is… drum roll…. The Rain forest! You may notice a little change in our school.  We love this theme! It encompasses previous themes such as bugs, frogs, caterpillars & butterflies. We’ll explore the great Kapok Tree, the layers of the Rain forest, animals, and tropical plants. Our good ole’ Squwaker will make his way around the school, as a native from New Jersey.. JK, the tropics. If you have anything to donate to this theme, please do! Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Well hope you got your fill of Frogs this week… I know we did! We learned that frogs have webbed feet that help them swim and can live in water and on land. We leaped, hopped and talked about how they grow and change just like us. Another great week @ the Kondo!

Sports/Fitness is next weeks theme. We’ll beef up our games, tumble on mats, limbo and end the week with a Sports-type banquet/Ice cream Social. It’ll be a blast;) All friends (except Tadpoles) please bring in a white t-shirt for decorating by Friday morning. AND if you have any sport items, please share. ex. basketball, baseball & glove, tennis racket, soccer ball, football, etc. For the little guys we’ll roll the ball, jump through hula hoops, play tug-a-war, and crafts. Looking forward to it!

Next weeks theme is Fun with Frogs. They are intriguing little creatures. We’ll talk about life cycles, sounds and colors. There will be lots of hopping and leaping! I’m looking for rubber frogs if anyone can share. See detailed activities in classrooms. Have a great weekend!

WOW whata week! We are so grateful for all the goodies we received:)

Onto our next theme which is Bugs, Bugs, Bugs! We’ll observe/explore creepy crawlies and help to understand the world around them. We’ll find out which ones are friendly and which ones to avoid! Detailed schedules are posted in classrooms.

This next week we are celebrating our MOMS, showing our school spirit, appreciating our teachers, all while listening to Marachi music! 4 themes packed into 5 days! Hi All,

Ah! another successful Egg Hunt…  be sure to remember your child’s goodies. Thank you parents for the flowers and help on the yard. It’s in really good shape. We APPRECIATE you!

Next week we’ll be discovering Caterpillars & Butterflies. We’ve been germinating caterpillars for about a week now. We’ve been watching them grow daily. Fascinating! Hopefully they’ll bustout of their cocoons by Friday and well release them in the back yard. For detailed curriculum see your child’s classroom.

Well hello there! We’ve got an action packed week coming up. First off Easter is really late this year, so we are combing our Earth Day with our Egg Hunt. The theme for next week is Recycle, Reduce, Reuse. We’ll talk about the earth show images, sing songs, do crafts, read books, all the fun stuff! Then on Friday afternoon have our Easter Egg Hunt, starting @ 4:00 sharp. Parents are welcome to attend.

We’ve decided to change our Earth Day Yard Beautification to Friday morning instead of Saturday morning, like we’ve done in the past. We’ll start @ 9 till we’re done. We need a handful of good volunteers. Breakfast will be provided. Things we’d like to accomplish:

• Pull up rosemary in the front/replace with basil & tomato plants
• Plant flowers in the front rocky area
• Cut back side yard

If you won’t be able to join us and you’d like to participate, you can donate flowers.. we need full sun flowers for the front. Thanks a bunch!!

This week we’ll focus our attention to, Week of the Young Child, which is designed to bring attention to the needs of young children.

This will be a week to celebrate our friends. We are happy to be a part of the early stages of development. We have “all about me” and “how I’m feeling today” arts/crafts, along with face painting, and opportunities to share. If you have books about feelings/emotions, family or all about me, please share.

Oh Joy! Beautiful weather, if you don’t mind the pollen;)
