Happy Halloween Weekend Ya’ll

We have enjoyed another great week here @ the Kondo! Next weeks theme is Healthy Foods. We’ll talk about the benefits of eating healthy and do some taste testing. . We are reading Stone Soup and trying out our cooking skills. Please bring in one of the ingredients for an activity by Thursday night. The ingredients are listed below. This is for the Butterfly room only… we’ll share!

Ingredients: 5 of each works:  celery, carrot, red potato, zucchini, squash, 1 can of chicken broth and 1 can of corn.

p.s. November 7-23, 2011 is our annual food drive to benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank. The barrel will be in the office.

OOOOOoooo Halloween is amoung us… which means time for our Fall Parties! Here’s the scoop, Infant classes, Tadpoles, Polliwogs, & Frogs are having their festivities on Wednesday from 4-5 p.m.

Turtles, Bumble bees & Caterpillars will celebrate on Thursday 4-5 p.m. These classes have a sign up sheet on the Caterpillar class front door. These parents are encouraged to check it out.

Butterflies (our biggest class) will celebrate on Friday 4-5ish. They also have a sign up sheet on their front door.

If you are planning to dress up your children, just send in the costumes. We’ll change into them after nap. Don’t forget driveway etiquette;) We’ll have a blast!

These are the people in your neighborhood, they’re the people that you meet, when your walking down the street… Love that song:) Postal workers, police, nurses, doctors, dentists and this weeks firefighters. Afternoon Parents,

Farm & Animals, it’s been a great two weeks! Hope you heard all about it.

October is Fire Safety Month, which leads us into next week. We’ll be learning how to stay safe in the event of a fire, what not to touch, hot & cold differences, what firemen look like, what they wear, fire drills, AND special visitors from our local #19 firestation. Whata week! As always, if you have anything to donate, pertaining to this theme.. feel free!

Phew another week of fun! Continuing on to Farm Animals… next week we’ll identify animal sounds, colors and species. For details, please see your child’s classroom curriculum sheet.

Happy Fall to YOU!

Next week’s theme is Down on the Farm. We’ll explore what farmers work so hard to cultivate and produce. We’ll dissect veggies, talk about jobs, tractors, and attire. Friday will be Farmer dress up day, plus we’ll make biscuits for breakfast. Yeay! Fun for all! If you have anything to share, ex. hats, overalls, boots, etc. please do! Have a great weekned;)

Hellloo Parents!

Hope you’re enjoying your week so far. Who knows what happens this week?? The first day of Fall! We are very excited about that. Color changes, weather changes, yummy foods, and festivals. We’ll be exploring these topics this week.

Is the week over already? Wow that was fast! The weather is gonna be gorgeous this weekend, enjoy!

Next week is Show Me the Shape! Shapes are all around us. Children are able to recognize shapes as early as infancy. We will use hands on activities such as art, block play, games and books to facilitate this theme. If you have anything to share such as books or puzzles please do!
