Hi Parents,

Hopefully the worst of the rain is behind us… now bring on the glorious fall weather! Just a reminder, please dress your child in layers. We do go outside in the mornings and it can get a little chilly.

This weeks theme is Changing Weather. We will talk about the rain, of course, and incorporate the scenery outdoors. This Friday we ask all children to dress up in “rain gear” for a fun activity. As always, if you have anything to contribute or donate please feel free.

Closed Tuesday, 9/22/09
We will be closed Tuesday, Sept 22. The heavy rain caused our basement area to
flood and we may not have hot water or A/C working when we open. Also, our
internet/email service is down and will not be repaired until Tuesday per our
provider.

Happy Fall! Wednesday is the first day of Autumn and we will be exploring this season as our theme for the week. Colors and smells will be a major part of this week. Be sure to notice artwork displayed around the room. Thursday we will be “shucking” corn and identifying parts from husk, kernel to cob. Please BRING IN an ear of corn by Thursday. If you have anything to donate or contribute please do!

Next weeks theme is Apples to Apples! We will explore different aspects of apples including color, smell, and taste. We will also incorporate books, games, crafts, cooking,  songs and fingerplays. If you have anything to contribute please see your childs teacher. Thanks!

Next weeks theme is “Family Pets”. Sensory, role play, art and introducing new words will be how we explore this week. Please bring in a pet picture, to share by Thursday. Also if you have a “gentle” pet who is NOT afraid of children, and would like to bring in as a classroom visitor, please see your child’s teacher or me. Have a great four day weekend!
