Weekly Theme Update

Hi Parents,

This weeks theme will be All about Thanksgiving. Building on what we explored last week, we’ll continue with crafts, stories, and sensory activities, (ex. pumpkin playdough). Please see curriculum sheet posted on classroom door for more details. We will be sending home all displayed art work & finished projects. Please check your child’s folder. Thanks!

We all have so much to be thankful for. Have a great holiday.

This Friday is Native American dress up. It’s completely optional. We will provide the face paint! This is for all classes. Oh and don’t forget monthly supplies. We’re running low. Thanks!

Weekly Theme Update

Hi All,

Hope you had a great weekend. Right to the point… this week’s theme is “Native Americans”. We will introduce this theme with images of people, culture, and lifestyle. This theme involves alot of hands on art activities. We will build language by using words like moccasins, chief, tribe, jewelry, pottery, and headdress. This theme blends nicely with lasts week’s Friends & Friendship. If you have anything you would like to add please feel free. For the younger friends we will also have exciting art activities along with songs, dance, and fingerplays. What we want to accomplish is to familiarize your children with Native American culture and associate this theme with the season. We look forward to it! Thanks.

Weekly Theme Update

Hi Parents,

As you know this past weeks theme was “Feelings and Emotions”. We covered everything from facial expressions to acting out feelings to shaking our sillies out! It’s been a heartfelt week for all of us. In passing a parent mentioned to me that her child said ”I’m learning about feelings and oceans at school.” Your children are little sponges taking in every detail. We are all proud of them.

As we head into a new week we will be exploring friends and friendships through interactive games, art, role play, & cooking. We will also language build by using descriptive words (for example, friends are gentle, kind, and patient). For the younger children, role playing, group times, and sensory experiences will be how we help to facilitate this theme. Looking forward to it!
